• Conceived and initiated Savannah River at Risk research for a sustainable Savannah River
  
• Received first major EPA research grant for Savannah River at Risk project
  
• Hosted first in a series of public forums to address critical water resource issues in the region
  
• Formed affiliation with The University of Georgia's Institute of Ecology
  
• Formed affiliation with Clemson University's Department of Biological Studies
  
• Signed landmark agreement with international mining company to collaborate on the Academy's Center for Ecological Restoration, located in Ridgeway, South Carolina
  
• Partnered with Georgia Department of Natural Resources and Georgia Department of Transportation to expand park borders
