Partners
Southeastern Natural Sciences Academy began with a vision: balancing environmental
protection, economic prosperity, and community well being. It evolved into
a mission: promoting environmental stewardship through education, research
and public outreach. It blossomed into a project embraced by hundreds of citizens,
visited by thousands of schoolchildren, and championed by dozens of Partners.
The Academy fosters cooperation between the business community, academia,
and environmental institutions, as we believe it is only through working together
that we can achieve a balance between environmental protection and economic
development. In order to continue our mission, we need the continued support
of the corporate community. Participation in Academy programs provides partners
a vehicle to support education, research and responsible stewardship for future
generations.

Southeastern Natural Sciences Academy is a non-profit 501(c)(3)
organization dedicated to promoting environmental stewardship through education,
research, and outreach programs. The Academy Partners program counts as its
members more than 175 companies, small
businesses, foundations, government agencies, nonprofit organizations and
educational groups who know that the Academy’s work is good for business,
government and education in our community.
The Academy’s programs
respond to community needs, and we are the local leader in addressing the
long-term vitality of our shared natural resources.
The Academy’sdevelopment of Augusta’s Phinizy Swamp
Nature Park has propelled Southeastern Natural Sciences Academy to the
forefront of environmental education and outreach in the CSRA and beyond.
After several years of developing innovative environmental education programs
and the outdoor infrastructure of trails, open-air classrooms, boardwalks,
and observation decks at Phinizy Swamp Nature Park, the Academy unveiled the
fully-funded Phinizy Swamp Campus in Summer 2003.
In fall 2004, the Academy embarked on the Savannah River at Risk Research and Education Initiatives. After meeting its $1.9 million capital campaign goal, the Academy hosted its first Savannah River at Risk Public Forum which addressed water quality issues in the upper, middle, and lower Savannah River Corridor. In fall 2007, the Academy will present the Savannah River at Risk project's first year of water quality data at the second Public Forum and expand its position of regional environmental leadership in research programs involving water quality, ecological
restoration, and innovative ecology-based technologies for cleaner water.
Now, more than ever, we
need the continued support of the Corporate community. Please join us as a
member of the Academy Partners Program today.
