Level 4
- Student can accurately describe all discussed specifics of how reptiles and amphibians are the same and different from each other, including understanding the concepts of warm-blooded (endothermic) versus cold-blooded (ectothermic), metamorphosis, and respiration differences.
- Student can list more than four specific defenses reptiles and amphibians may employ, and why they need these defenses to survive.
- Student can accurately list and categorize over six different examples of reptiles and amphibians.
Level 3
- Student can accurately describe almost all discussed specifics of how reptiles and amphibians are the same and different from each other, but when questioned closely about advanced concepts such as cold-blooded (ectothermic), metamorphosis, and respiration, gaps in knowledge are apparent.
- Student can list three defenses reptiles and amphibians employ and why they are important for survival.
- Student can accurately list and categorize between four and six different examples of reptiles and amphibians.
Level 2
- Student can accurately describe some of the similarities and differences between reptiles and amphibians, but fails to list more advanced concepts such as cold-blooded (ectothermic), metamorphosis, and respiration.
- Student can list one or two defenses reptiles and amphibians employ, but does not relate these defenses to survival.
- Student can only accurately list two or three examples of reptiles and amphibians and does not always categorize them correctly
Level 1
- Student has difficulty describing accurate similarities and differences between reptiles and amphibians.
- Student may not be able to list any accurate defenses of reptiles and amphibians and does not understand the value of defenses for survival.
- Student has trouble listing and categorizing reptiles and amphibians correctly.
