SWAMP TRACKS
Level 4
- Student can accurately describe more than five characteristics of a mammal, and can accurately list more than five examples of mammals that live at Phinizy Swamp Nature Park .
- Student can list at least four things that scientists would consider a “clue” that an animal has been in an area.
- Student can accurately list at least four of the characteristics that make one animal’s footprint different from another’s, and can accurately list one example each of a two-toed, four-toed, and five-toed mammal.
Level 3
- Student can accurately describe two or three of the characteristics of a mammal, and can accurately list more than three examples of mammals that live in at Phinizy Swamp Nature Park.
- Student can list at least three things that scientists would consider a “clue” that an animal has been in an area.
- Student can accurately list at least three of the characteristics that make one animal’s footprint different from another’s, and can accurately list an example for two of the three following: a two-toed, four-toed, or five-toed mammal.
Level 2
- Student can accurately describe only one or two characteristics of a mammal, and although they can list one or two mammals correctly, they may have misconceptions about the mammals that live at Phinizy Swamp Nature Park .
- Student can list at least two things that scientists would consider a “clue” that an animal has been in an area.
- Student can accurately list two of the characteristics that make one animal’s footprint different from another’s, and can accurately list an example for only one of the three following: a two-toed, four-toed, or five-toed mammal.
Level 1
- Student can only accurately describe one characteristic of a mammal, and has great difficulty listing any correct examples of mammals that live at Phinizy Swamp Nature Park .
- Student can only list one thing that scientists would consider a “clue” that an animal has been in an area.
- Student has difficulty listing one characteristic that make an animal’s footprint different from another’s, and cannot accurately list an example of a two-toed, four-toed, or five-toed mammal.
