Teacher Checklist for Phinizy Swamp Nature Park Field Trip

BEFORE THE FIELD TRIP

• Download all suggested field trip information from our website, or call our offices at 706-828-2109 to receive necessary information.
• Check the field trip confirmation sheet to make sure all information is correct.
• Review all downloaded information, including the rubric for your program to assess pre-field trip student content knowledge.
• Call the Academy office at 706-828-2109 to reserve a loan box (if one is desired).
• Review the teacher preparation guide information and activities with your students.
• Secure the proper number of chaperones for the trip.
• Secure transportation.
• Secure field trip payment if necessary.
• Send home the liability forms to be signed.
• Tell students what to wear and expect on their field trip.

FIELD TRIP DAY

• Pre-split students into the number of groups we have suggested.
• Arrive at the Nature Park on time and with the liability sheets and payment ready to give to the staff.
• Help the field trip leader by closely monitoring the behavior of your class (please remind the chaperones that this is their role as well).

AFTER THE FIELD TRIP

• Review the rubric for your program and assess post-trip student content knowledge.
• Fill out and send the post-field trip evaluation form to is in the self-addressed envelope provided.
